Holding my first personal surfboard shaped in a proper bay. My mentor at the time, Kevin, helped band the rails and the board became a quick favorite. It still sees waves from time to time but is now a few inches shorter after being run into the Imperial Beach pier. This outline is based off the SoCal rocket fish of the 80's and loves a big wrapping cutback.

Copied the outline from a friends favorite board that he wanted to refine with slightly accentuated double concave and a fuller rail. This one flies down the line in up to 8 foot surf and is a San Diego wave magnet. I enjoy hand shaping boards because you can customize every detail for a specific wave or surfer that is often overlooked when computer rendered.

This log was shaped while working at Chris Ruddy's factory in Ocean Beach. I would work 12-14 hour days and take surf breaks while resin was setting, then come back at night to work on personals while no one was around. This board was a success and provided plenty of early roll ins that often ended with inside nose rides.
